Hullavington Secret Santa ’10’ – 2024

The fifth edition of the Secret Santa 10-miler saw two new course records as Aiden Daniel of Team Bath and Sarah Trahair-Williams from South Gloucestershire overcame the blustery conditions to take victory in 53:17 and 65:06 respectively.

Two hundred runners signed up for the fifth edition of the Hullavington Secret Santa 10-mile Run which was held in rather blustery conditions on Sunday 22nd December.

The course heads out of the village and takes in a playfully undulating loop around Grittleton, Yatton Keynell, along the Cromhall Lane to Kington St Michael and then Leigh Delamare before finishing back at the Hullavington Arms.

Leading the field home over the 10-mile course was Aiden Daniel of Team Bath in a new course record time of fifty-three minutes and seventeen seconds with James Bellward of Chippenham Harriers just a minute behind and last year’s winner, Jon Cracknell of Lonely Goat Running Club taking third spot.

For the Ladies, Sarah Thrahair-Williams from South Gloucestershire also claimed a new course record time of 65-minutes and 6-seconds along with her victory ahead of Caitlin Wosika from Team Bath and Emily Pitcher from Emersons Green Runners.

Age group awards went to: MV40 – Martin Lewis of Emersons Green Runners; MV50 – Gary O’Brien of Swindon Harriers; MV60 – Clive Newman of Corsham Running Club; FV40 – Debbie Jones from Little Somerford; FV50 – Laura Midwinter-Brown of Corsham Running Club; FV60 – Felicity Russell of Westbury Harriers.

All finishers received a Secret Santa medal and a gift from Santa’s sack, all unclaimed gifts were sent onto the “Companions at Christmas” charity.
