One hundred and forty runners lined up in good conditions for the fourth & final edition of the Hullavington 20-mile road race, which takes place over a two lap course taking in Grittleton, Sevington, Leigh Delamare, Kington St Michael and Stanton St Quinton before finishing outside of the Hullavington Arms. Leading the field home with quite a massive lead was Alistair Matheson of Bristol & West AC in a super-speedy 1-hour 53-minutes and 8-seconds with Nick Hancock of Corsham Running Club and Danny Isaacs of Highgate Harriers joining him on the podium. The Ladies race also saw a convincing victory with Helena Sexton of Birmingham Running & Triathlon club taking the win with Anna Patrickson from City of Salisbury ARC and Helen Seymour of Vegan Runners having a sprint finish for the silver & bronze medals.
Age category winners were: MV40 – Karl Pryor of Corsham Running Club; FV40 – Lyndsey Carpenter of Chippenham Triathlon Club; MV50 – Chris Miller of Cirencester AC; FV50 – Zoe Illingsworth of Highworth Running Club; MV60 – Chris Hunt of Corsham Running Club
The event successfully raised £1,000 for the charity, Action Medical Research.
